Screen Gain A
matt white viewing surface is generally 1.0 gain, in other words it
returns the same amount of light to the viewer as the projector puts
out. High contrast grey is generally 0.8 gain, in other words it
returns about 80% of the light output of the projector. Matt white
is the correct surface for most projectors. High contrast grey can
increase the perceived black levels of the image with higher output
projectors. We recommend at least 1200 ANSI lumens, depending on
screen size, for high contrast grey to be effective. It is not
suitable for large screens or projectors with much less than 1200
ANSI lumens of light output. Call Us if
